On Saturday 28th June 2008, 30th Brighton Scout Group, based north of Brighton held its annual fete organised by leaders and lay members in the group. The event was a great success for a number of reasons. Firstly due to the number of stands and activities at the event, which included Beavers, Cubs and Scouts taking part in a It's a Knockout event. Secondly, the group organised, with assistance of Brighton's District Commissioner Dave Jackson and Sharon Magee (ADC Beaver Scouts) a development stand that made a number of contacts in the community with children and adults who would like to join Scouting. Finally, the group raised much needed funds for the day to day running of the group. The 30th would like to thank all those Leaders, Helpers, Young Leaders and Lay members who organised the event and making the event such an success again. Another 30th Fete will be held in 2009 and will be advertised on this site, so watch this space. |

On Saturday 10th May 2008 over 50 members of our Scout Group, including Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders and Parents, undertook a nine mile hike accross the Downs and raised a significant amount of money that will purchase a large mess tent for the group. The tent was needed due to the increase of numbers in the group over the last few years. The members of the group would like to thank those who raised the money and to those leaders and lay members who organised the event. |

On the 10th May 15 Cub Scouts from four packs went to Thorpe Park.
Once we stepped off the coach our eyes popped in amazement. We rushed over the extended bridge with peaceful blue water.
The excitement started as we were queueing for "Depth Charge" it felt as if the sun opened up into our eyes.
As we made our way around we stopped off at "The Flying Fish" it was actually really good it was almost as much fun as cubs.
Following that Jack, Patch and Michelle went on "X No Way Out" all i can say is "it was awesome".
Penny and Dave (Leaders) say they went on "Stealth" - Jack and Patch are really angry about that.!!!!!
While this was happening the rest of the cubs went on the "Carousel" we were all so dizzy after that ride. Then we went on the "Jungle Safari" and we drove the cars.
We stopped for lunch - yum yum.
Once we were refilled we went onto "Loggers Leap" we were drenched, we felt wonderful.
Penny bought us all a refreshing ice cream cone at the same time some of us went on "Rocky Express". The onto "R'jmba Rapids" were some of us got very soggy. Our last ride was "Storm in a Teacup". We went to the gift shop before we stepped back on the coach and said our last farewells to Thorpe Park.
Thanks to all for a wonderful day out.
